Teray Johnson, PhD, MS, MBA,  Director, Data Automation and Transformation, Lifepoint Health

Dr. Teray Johnson is the Director of Data Automation and Transformation at Lifepoint Health, a healthcare system spanning over 80 hospitals and rehabilitation and behavioral health facilities across 30 states. She has a proven track record of leading multidisciplinary teams to analyze hospital operations and drive performance improvement. Moreover, she leads data strategy for the organization, such as by leading a data governance effort and creating an analytics community of practice to create and standardize analytics best practices. Dr. Johnson is a recognized authority in transforming complex healthcare challenges into actionable strategies and in highlighting burnout mitigation techniques among non-patient-facing employees.

In addition to her role at Lifepoint Health, Dr. Johnson is an adjunct professor at Southern New Hampshire University, Rowan University’s Marketing/MIS department and at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology, where she teaches analytics, statistics, ethics in data analysis, and information systems for managers. With a decade of experience in healthcare, she has managed diverse areas, including patient transportation for a 500-bed hospital, nursing administration operations, and initiatives to enhance population health across hospitals and primary care practices.

Dr. Johnson is an engaged leader within the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). While she lived in Greater Philadelphia, she served as a board member of the Greater Philadelphia chapter as the co-chair of the Career Development Committee, where she led multiple subcommittees in guiding professionals toward achieving their career aspirations, including achieving fellowship.

Moreover, she is an Executive Fellow of the American College of Health Data Management (ACHDM). She leads the Data Translation Community of Practice whose objective is to bridge the gap between data analytics and actionable information for healthcare leaders.

A highly regarded author, Dr. Johnson co-authored the book Revolutionizing Healthcare: The Power of Data Analytics to Improve Outcomes and Cost Reduction, offering healthcare leaders clear insights into analytics and real-world strategies through case studies. Her peer-reviewed publications focus on improving organizational culture and reducing employee burnout in healthcare settings.

Dr. Johnson holds a PhD in Data Sciences and a Master of Science in Analytics from Harrisburg University, as well as an MBA in Management Information Systems from Rowan University. As a member of both ACHE and ACHDM, she is committed to advancing the integration of data and healthcare leadership, especially to alleviate burnout and improve employee engagement and organizational culture.
