Amorié Patrick, Regional Development Manager – Americas, Vesuvius| Advanced Refractories Division

Amorié Patrick is a metallurgical engineer with over 20 years of experience in the iron and steel industry, specializing in monolithic refractories. She currently leads R&D efforts across North and South America at Vesuvius, driving innovation in sustainable refractory solutions. Her global career has included technical and leadership roles in South Africa, the UK, Belgium, and the Americas.

Her technical expertise spans the development, design, and manufacturing of alumina-silicate and basic monolithic products, including taphole clays, fired alumina, and basic bricks. She has significant experience in operational manufacturing of refractories as well as refractory–slag interaction modeling, thermodynamic analysis, and pyrometallurgical process optimization – concluding the full refractory product life cycle.

Amorié has led the successful global launch of two sustainable product lines and contributed to Europe’s first hydrogen-free casthouse project. She holds a degree in Metallurgical Engineering with postgraduate specialization in pyrometallurgy, refractory materials, and welding engineering.

Outside of work, she is a proud wife and mother, a mentor to aspiring engineers, and a passionate pianist, reader, landscape photographer, and culinary experimenter.
