Autumn Miller, Senior Engineer, ATI

Autumn Miller joined ATI in 2018 as an intern, where she gained valuable experience with the Quality team in the Specialty Rolled Products (SRP) business unit. After earning a dual engineering degree in Materials Science and Mechanical Engineering, along with a degree in Mathematics from Saint Vincent College, she became a full-time member of the Process Control and Automation (PC&A) team in 2019.

In her current role as a Models Engineer, Autumn applies process knowledge, modeling expertise, data analytics, and hands-on shop floor experience to drive improvements across ATI’s specialty alloy operations. She played a pivotal role in integrating three advanced process models at Latrobe Operations, contributing from early planning stages through to the final pouring of metal into ingots. These efforts have improved production consistency, reduced quality issues, and advanced the use of data-driven decision-making in the melt shop.  In recognition of her contributions to the field, Autumn was named to the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) “30 Under 30” list, honoring the top 30 manufacturing engineers under 30 in North America.

Autumn’s passion for engineering and metals runs deep. She views her contributions at ATI not only as a way to solve complex technical problems, but also as part of a broader legacy—continuing the work of her great-grandfathers, all of whom labored in Pittsburgh’s steel mills. She hopes that her career path and commitment to innovation can also serve as an example for the engineers who will shape the industry’s future.
