Chinar Kaul, Senior Associate, Full-Stack Engineer, BNY
Chinar is a Software Engineer at BNY, where she develops software tools that empower financial analysts to interpret large amounts of data. She is passionate about building systems that bolster our ability to make smarter decisions and contribute to a more connected and equitable society.
Prior to joining the bank, she graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering degree, concentrating in cyber-physical systems. She also graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering degree.
Chinar has spent her career pushing the boundaries of technology’s impacts on finance and society. As a graduate student, Chinar worked as a research assistant funded by the U.S. Department of Energy, optimizing machine learning algorithms to provide transportation services for rural Pennsylvanians. Additionally, as a collegiate member of the Society of Women Engineers, Chinar was chosen as one of 10 finalists nationwide for her research on computer vision applications in kinesiology.
Along with her work in technology, Chinar is passionate about ethics, inclusion, and social good for women. She has been an active member of women in technology initiatives throughout college and industry. Additionally, she currently serves as the youngest board member of the WomanSpace East non-profit in Pittsburgh, PA, empowering underprivileged women in the community.
