Dr. Navitha Ramesh, Chair of the Department of Medicine, UPMC Harrisburg, Community Osteopathic, and West Shore Hospital, Assistant Professor of Medicine, Drexel University College of Medicine

Dr. Navitha Ramesh is an accomplished pulmonary and critical care physician, educator, and leader. Dr. Ramesh currently serves as Chair of the Department of Medicine at UPMC Harrisburg, Community Osteopathic, and West Shore Hospitals, and is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine.

She is the former Program Director for the Critical Care Medicine Fellowship at UPMC Harrisburg, which she built from the ground up to successful accreditation. Dr. Ramesh is internationally recognized for her expertise in point-of-care ultrasound, ECMO, and critical care education, having delivered numerous invited lectures at CHEST, ATS, and SCCM, and serving as faculty for national simulation and ultrasound courses.

Her scholarly work includes over a dozen peer-reviewed publications, multiple book chapters, and ongoing research in pulmonary embolism outcomes, severe asthma, and medical education. She has also been honored as a Distinguished CHEST Educator and named among the Top Physicians Under 40 by the Pennsylvania Medical Society.

Beyond her clinical and academic achievements, Dr. Ramesh is a passionate advocate for diversity and mentorship, particularly for women and underrepresented groups in medicine.
