Katie Colella, PE, Structural EngineerIV; Deputy Department Manager, AECOM

Katie Colella holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, with minors in Applied Mathematics and Dance, from the University of Akron. She also earned a Master of Science in Structural Engineering from Lehigh University, where she completed her studies as a fully funded Research Assistant.

Since joining AECOM in 2016, Katie has worked with the firm’s Structures Group in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Throughout her career, she has focused primarily on large-scale, complex highway bridge projects across North America. Most recently, she served as Structural Task Lead for the rehabilitation of the Duquesne-McKeesport Bridge located in Pittsburgh.

Katie is passionate about advancing women in engineering and is an active member of the Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS), where she serves as Chair of the Transportation YOU Committee. She is also involved in several professional engineering organizations, including the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the Engineers’ Society of Western Pennsylvania (ESWP), and the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC).
