Mary Angela Baker, M.A., Principal Consultant, Firm Fortitude
Mary Angela Baker’s vocation is to create opportunities where women and girls can step into their leadership and thrive. Currently, she is the principal consultant at Firm Fortitude. She has an extensive career in higher education, focusing on leadership and professional development, continuing education, outreach, and community engagement. She was the founding director of the Center for Extended and Lifelong Learning at Salisbury University in Maryland. Prior to this, Baker was the director of the Leadership Institute at St. Catherine University. Located in St. Paul, Minnesota, “St. Kate’s” is one of the largest women’s colleges in the United States. Baker has created several leadership programs for girls and women at all career and life stages. Baker is currently active in several women’s leadership initiatives; she is a founding leadership team member of the University of Minnesota’s Carlson Women Global Connect, a founding member of the United Way of the Eastern Shore’s Women United, and on the executive leadership team for the International Leadership Association’s Women & Leadership member community. A lifelong learner, Baker is a Feminist Leadership Fellow from the University of Minnesota and an alumna of Leadership Maryland. She received her undergraduate degree in business administration from the University of Minnesota and a master’s degree in organizational leadership from St. Catherine University. With her husband, Jack, and border collie, Mesa, she spends her free time at the beach at Assateague Island National Seashore.
