Natalee Smith, Ph.D., R&D Lab and Technical Product Manager, Covestro

Natalee Smith is a Jamaican-born organic chemist who thrives on sunshine and vitamin D. As a Research and Development Lab and Technical Product Manager in the Coatings and Adhesives business at Covestro, a global chemical company, she collaborates across commercial, technical, and manufacturing teams, providing technical leadership in sustainable product design and development.
Balance is central to her approach, and she is deeply committed to fostering exploration, curiosity, and resilience in both STEM and the arts. In addition to her active involvement in STEM outreach through Covestro, Natalee serves on the board of PearlArts Movement and Sound, a Pittsburgh-based nonprofit dedicated to inclusive movement and sound-based programming that strengthens community ties.
Natalee holds a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Delaware and graduated with honors from Bryn Mawr College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry.
